Playoffs 2018 Have arrived.
Crisp Division - # 2 Township Tomahawks (25-35) @ #1 Roesville Raiders (37-23)
This is a very intriguing matchup. First you have the Township Tomahawks who have won the previous 4 WBLFBL Championships. The Tomahawks are the class of the league and have been able to consistently find a winning formula to take home the trophy with a dominant pitching staff. This may be the year that all falls apart, as Township limped into the playoffs with a abysmal record of 25-35. I'm not sure what happened with Township management this season, but something has changed as there league activity is down 71%.
On the other hand you have the Roesville Raiders who have gone 29-7 against their division this season. In the previous 4 matchups this season Roesville has swept Township 12-0. So to say that Roesville is the Favorite in this matchup, that would be the understatement of the year. Roesville uses a potent offense which finished the top 3 in every offensive category mixed with an Average pitching staff to win most weeks.
Frigid Division - #2 White Bear Bears (34-24) @ #1 Little Falls Polaks (40-20)
White Bear had a very successful season finishing with 34 wins. A pivotal sweep in the final week of the season vs Dinkytown has given the Bears a chance in the Postseason. White Bear has been devastated with injuries in the second half. The Top 4 pitchers in the Bears rotation are currently on the shelf. It will be up to the young hitters for White Bear to carry the load, as The Bears try to pull off the upset vs Little Falls.
Little Falls led the WBLFBL with 40 wins this season. The Polaks are a scrappy team led by Mike Trout at the plate. The loss of Mullins and Mallex Smith are going to hurt the Polaks but their hitting should still be deep enough to beat the Bears. On the mound the loss of young phenom Sean Manea will hurt. The late season addition of Carlos Rodon should help Blake Snell dominate the Bears. The Polaks have had a great season and it would take a near miracle for The Polaks not to represent the Frigid Division in the World Series.
