Week 4 brought us 4 road teams coming away with victories.
White Bear Bears 2 (6, 1.5, 4.5) @ Township Tomahawks 1 (1, 5.5, 2.5):
The Bears came out swinging led by Michael Brantley 2 HR, 4 runs, and 6 Rbi while hitting .300 for the week winning the category 6-1 to take an early lead 1-0.
Pitching was a different story as Charlie Morton shined for the Tomahawks with a W 7inn and 12 k's. Shortly after the game it was rumored that Morton may be released in favor of journeyman outfielder Jim Adducci and a $7 bid. Tomahawks management has come under fire recently after there terrible draft and now a slow start a change may be coming. Tomahawks win 5.5 - 1.5 to tie the score at 1.
The resurgent Bears continued their winning ways as Brad Miller drew 6 walks and played sparkling defense to win the mixed game 4.5-2.5 and take the 2-1 victory and sole possession of 2nd place.
Centerville Chaos 2 (.5, 5, 5) @ Roesville Raiders 1 (6.5, 2, 2)
The Raiders came out swinging literally. As Miguel Sano took offense to an inside pitch and charged the mound and may get a few days off for his efforts. This seemed to spark Sano as he was a 1 man wrecking crew at the plate. 11 hits, 11 rbi, 3 homeruns, and a .524 batting average. Sano would be a household name if he played on a better team instead of Roesville. Sano has recently mentioned that he would like to be sent down to the minors to play with the rest of the good players. Roesville 6.5-.5 takes a 1-0 lead.
Centerville appalled after losing a game to the Raiders stormed back on the right arm of Masahiro Tanaka. Tanaka threw a complete game shutout to lead a dominant pitching performance that led to 5-2 victory and tied the score at 1.
Rubber arm Andrew Miller sealed the victory in the mixed category with 3 App and 7 k's in 3.1 innings. Centerville wins 5-2 and wins the Matchup 2-1. Roesville drops to 2-10 on the year while Centerville improves to 9-3 firmly in control of first place.
Twin City Brewers 2 (6, 4, 2) @ Hugo Hurt Locker 1 (1, 3, 5):
The Brewers breakout of slump to upset the Hurtlocker. 10 Khris Davis had 3 homers, 4 runs, 5 rbi to lead the Brewers hitters to a 6-1 victory and take a 1-0 lead.
The Brewers continued their dominance in this matchup with stellar pitching led by L. Severino 7 inning 6 k shutout and Yu Darvish 6 inning 10 k and a win to lead the way. Brewers win 4-3 to take a 2-0 lead.
The Hurt Locker narrowly avoided the sweep in this matchup thanks in large part to A. Miranda, M. Stroman, and M. Pineda. The trio posted above 11.8 k/9 and all kept opp BAA below .230. This was enough to give Hugo a 5-2 win in the mixed game and salvage a 1-2 loss instead of a sweep.
Dinkytown Wildcats 3 (4.5, 4.5, 4) @ Little Falls 0 (2.5, 2.5, 3):
The Wildcats are trying to rekindle the magic of the good old days. If its only for a week we shall see but this was a big sweep for the Wildcats to stay in contention early. Avi Garcia 9 h, 6 r, 6 rbi, 2 hr, and a .360 average along with Jose Ramirez 9h, 3 2b, .391 avg led the way as Dinkytown won 4.5 to 2.5 to take the early lead 1-0.
Veteran left hander and staff ace J. Quintana anchored the staff with 6 inn 10 k performance and a big win. Dinkytown management add Wade Miley this week and were rewarded with 12 innings and 14 k's to help seal the pitching matchup.
The mixed game was more of the same as Dinkytown won 4-3 to take a 3-0 win and secure the only sweep of the week. Little Falls wasted 21 hits from Mike Trout and Adam Jones in the loss. Mike Trout is only signed for 10 more years through 2027 lets hope at least one time he will have requisite talent put around him so he has a shot at a ring. This is year 4 and he has been alone thanks to the cheapest owner in the entire league.

Week 3 Recap
Week 3 Short Version
White Bear Bears 3 (6, 7, 5) @ Roesville Raiders 0 (1, 0, 2)
The White Bear Bears dominated every aspect in this matchup against the over matched Raiders. The Raiders only managed 3 runs and it may be time to start looking toward the future. Roesville has inexplicably left its two best players A. Benintendi and M. Haniger playing in Triple A with the Roseville Short Bus Raiders.
Township Tomahawks 1 (0, 6, 3) @ Centerville Chaos 2 (7, 1, 4)
We may be witnessing a changing of the guard as Centerville takes down Township in the battle for first place. After narrowly missing the playoffs last year Centerville seems determined to make the dance this year. Township continues to struggle with injuries and crappy players. This may be the year that the 3 time reigning champion is dethroned but there is still a long way to go.
Little Falls Polaks 3 (4, 6, 5) @ Twin City Brewers 0 (3, 1, 2)
Little Falls and their backwards management philosophies have prevailed again. Saving money year after year at the draft to save up for Bryce Harper seems a bit odd in this format but hey whatever works. The Brewers continue their quest for the number 1 pick. However this year he may have some stiff competition from Roesville.
Dinkytown Wildcats 2 (5.5, 2, 4) @ Hugo Hurt Locker 1 (1.5, 5, 3)
Dinkytown battled all week long and came out on top against Hugo. This was the closest battle of the week but in the end the Wildcats took a 2-1 victory on Hugo soil. Tightening the race in the junior circuit.

Week 2 Has come and gone.
White Bear Bears 1 (2,6,2.5) @ Centerville Chaos 2 (5,1,4.5)
Centerville Continued there hot start with a 2-1 victory over slumping White Bear and are now 5-1on the season while White Bear falls to 2-4.
Centerville took the early lead in the hitting category led by Nelson Cruz .391 with 9 hits and 5 Rbi. Logan Morrison chipped in with 2 homers and 5 rbi as the Chaos cruised to a (5-2) victory despite Jose Altuve's valiant effort. Altuve hit .529 with 9 hits 7 runs 7 bb's and 4 stolen bases.
White Bear stormed back in the Pitching category with a well rounded dominant performance. 7-0 record with a 1.46 ERA .175 BAA .872 WHIP and 8.94 K/9 may be the best performance in league history. James Paxton was the star with 15 IP 6 H 0ER 17 K's and 2 wins. WB (6-1)
Centerville recovered in time to take the Mixed category (4.5-2.5) Chris Sale was instrumental in the victory as he recorded 22 strikeouts in 14.2 innings and had a 13.5 k/9 to seal the victory.
Roesville Raiders 1 (5,3.5,3) @ Township Tomahawks 2 (2,3.5,4)
Roesville came out of the gates hot led by Francisco Lindor who had 10 hits 6 runs and 3 2b's. Max Kepler added 4 runs 4 DT a homer and 5 rbi as the Raiders won (5-2)
The pitching matchup was a tightly contested battle and came down to a home cooking for Township (3.5-3.5). Carlos Carrasco was the hero double start 13.2 inn with 8 hits and 12 K's. I think Roesville will be looking forward to the rematch next time around.
Township again squeaked out a (4-3) win in the Mixed category. Great defense on both sides as neither team committed an Error. Both teams also had 14 appearances. The 8.52 K/9 was the deciding factor for the Tomahawks. With the victory Township improves to 4-2 while Roesville drops to 1-5 and looks like last years playoff appearance was a fluke. Maybe at some point he will call up some of his best players who are rotting in the minors, but I doubt it.
Hugo Hurt Locker 3 (6,5.5,4.5) @ Little Falls Polaks 0 (1,1.5,2.5)
In a battle for 1st place Hugo Hurt Locker continued to show why they are the team to beat in the Junior Circuit. Hugo took 16 runs en route to a sweep of the over matched Polaks.
Jonathan Schoop led Hugo hitters with 9 hits 5 runs 3 doubles 2 homers and 6 rbi. Hugo dominated and won the hitting category (6-1) only losing stolen bases 3-2.
It was more of the same in the pitching category as Hugo won (5.5-1.5) only losing ERA 3.07 to 2.96. Michael Pineda had 2 wins in 14.2 innings with 17 k's to lead the way.
Hugo showed why they are the early season favorite by completing the sweep of Little Falls with a (4.5-2.5) win in the Mixed category. Miguel Cabrera had 4 walks and played stellar defense to secure the sweep.
Dinkytown Wildcats 1 (5,0,3.5) @ Twin City Brewers 2 (2,7,3.5)
Despite 13 homers from the Brewers hitters the Wildcats were able to take the hitting category (5-2) and an early lead. New comer Jose Ramirez hit over .520 with 11 hits and 8 rbi and newer comer Avisail Garcia also had 11 hits.
The Brewers dominated the consensus worst staff in the league in Dinkytown. A complete game shutout by Ervin Santana and a Gem turned in by Yu Darvish help the Brewers (7-0) take home the pitching matchup and tie the game at 1.
The Mixed game was another close one and gave us our second home cooking of the week as the Brewers won (3.5-3.5). Both teams played well defensively only committing 2 errors a piece. Brewers narrow victory was finished off with a 9.96 K9 to 9.70 K9 to take the 2-1 victory over the Wildcats.
White Bear Bears 1 (2,6,2.5) @ Centerville Chaos 2 (5,1,4.5)

Week 1 is in the books.
Township Tomahawks 2 (0, 4.5, 4) @ White Bear Bears 1(7,2.5,3)
The 3 time defending Champion Tomahawks battled injuries, the flu, and mismanagement but were still able to take down the lowly Bears.
The Bears took an early lead with a 7-0 sweep in the Hitting category thanks in large part to the newly acquired Jean Segura. Segura paced the Bears with 10 hits and 3 stolen bases to lead the onslaught.
Township stormed back in the Pitching and Mixed Categories led by Dylan Bundy and his 7 inning 4 hit 1 run 8 strikeout performance. Zach Britton chipped in 4 App for 5 inning and 3 saves and helped Township recover and start the season off on the right foot.
Roesville Raiders 0 (2.5,2.5,2) @ Centerville Chaos 3 (4.5,4.5,5)
This matchup was all Centerville! The first sweep of the year avenged some bad blood after Roesville narrowly knocked out Centervilles playoff hopes just a season ago.
Centervilles Kole Calhoun led the hitters with a .346 avg and 4 walks to secure the first game.
Chris Sale pitched 7 shutout innings with 7 k's while only allowing 3 hits to lead the Chaos pitching staff. The real story hear was the 4 other starters who had double starts and put up 58 innings with 55 strikeouts.
Little Falls Polaks 2 (1,5,5) @ Dinkytown Wildcats 1 (6,2,2)
Dinkytown hitters were on fire all week as Steven Souza and Nomar Mazara each had 10 hits and a .417 batting average for the week to sneak away with a heavily contested win Lets not forget the 4 HR by catcher Salvador Perez. Little Falls hitters were up to the challenge as Rougned Odor and Mike Moustakas both went yard 3 times each. But in the end Dinkytown was too much.
Both teams were dreadful in the pitching category as Little Falls was 1-5 with a 6.96 era only to be "outdone" by Dinkytown 0-7 6.47 era. But someone had to win and this game was won by Little Falls.
Despite some sparkling defense by Dinkytown it was Little Falls and the Strikeout Maching Sean Manea winning the Mixed game.
Hugo Hurt Locker 2 (.5,5,4) @ Twin City Brewers 1 (6.5,2,3)
George Springer may have taken exception to the fact that Hugo sent him packing to perennial cellar dweller Twin City last season. Springer led the way with 4 homers 8 Rbi and 5 runs. The rest of the hitters followed suit and Game 1 was a blowout as Twin City won 6.5-.5.
The rest of the matchup was all Hugo and that vaunted pitching staff led by Lance McCullers. McCullers was nothing short of magnificent. 13 innings 11 hits 17 k's and a W. Alex Colome nailed it down with 3 saves. Hugo pitching staff ended the week with a 2.23 ERA and .952 Whip to send a message across the league that there may be a new favorite in town. Now its up to Management to keep them relevant.
Hugo also rode this dominant pitching performance to a victory in the mixed game as well. Hopefully this no hitting all pitching plan pays off.
Township Tomahawks 2 (0, 4.5, 4) @ White Bear Bears 1(7,2.5,3)

Welcome Back for the 2017 Season.
Welcome Back to the WBLFBL for the 2017 Season!
IMPORTANT DATES:
Roster Protection will be on Saturday March 25th 2017.
Draft will be on Saturday April 1st, 2017.
1st MLB Game Sunday April 2nd, 2017
Our League Starts Monday April 3rd
RULE CHANGE:
Just a quick note regarding End of the Season Rosters.
The Commissioner suggested a rule change at the 2016 Draft, this rule was voted on by the League Managers and approved at the 2016 Draft. This rule was created because in the WBLFBL post season, Teams that did not make the Playoffs are forbidden from making Roster Moves this is because their transactions could effect the outcome of the Playoffs. Therefore it would be an unfair advantage to the Teams that do make the playoffs, if they could keep players they picked up after the rosters locked. Many times these hot young call ups to the MLB teams are their rookie talent known as "September Call-Ups" that could help their MLB team in their push to make the playoffs. The point is these teams would have a chance to add good rookie players who are not in a WBLFBL Farm System, without using a Minor league draft pick, effectively negating the minor league draft order. This negates our leagues' attempt to provide an advantage to those Franchises who did not perform as well as the others.
The following rule has been added to the League Bilaws:
End of Season Rosters consist of players that must have been on their teams roster at the start of the final week of the WBLFBL Regular Season. Any eligible Free Agents picked up after this date will not be eligible for the following years Roster Protection and will roll back into the General Free Agent Player Pool. Players picked up after the End of Season Rosters are set, are not eligible to be traded prior to the Roster Protection Date. Also Players who were dropped in order to pick up these September call-ups, will not be given back to the team who released them those players will be rolled back to the General Free Agency Pool. The release of contracted players will result in Penalties or fines. Farm System Players activated during this period will be eligible to be Protected on the Roster Protection. Those Farm Players will lose their Farm System eligibility and remain on the Regular season roster if the Franchise desires to keep them.
